What is the Attachment brick used for?
The Attachment brick will allow you to:
- Attach attachments to your resources from the Ermeo platform to make them available to your mobile operators (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Enrich your reports by uploading files directly during an intervention
- Send the end of intervention report by email, with its attachments
With this feature, the collection of documents and the management of files associated with your databases are therefore facilitated.
What is the Attachment brick?
The Attachment brick is located in your editing studio, in the Tasks category.
How do I attach an attachment to an asset?
Here are the steps for attaching attachments to your resources:
1. Go to the platform and click on the Databases section.
2. Click on the database where your resources for which you want to add attachments are located.
3. Click on the Attributes section and then on Create a New Attribute.
4. Give your Attachment type attribute a name. Choose the "Attachment" type in the type of attribute created.
5. Return to the list of resources in your database. Select resources (in our case Engine 12345 and Engine 2) and click to edit these resources. Choose the newly created attribute. Then select the attachment to be imported.
Your attachments are now attached to your resources. These attachments will be viewable directly on the application by your operators.
How to display an attachment in a form?
Let's go back to the previous configuration. We have two engines (Engine 12345 and Engine 2) for which we have attached an attachment.
Now you can view this attachment, in the form.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Create a form and drag and drop an Attachment brick.
2. In the brick's parameters, click on "Linked to an attribute" then on the Attachment attribute that you previously created. Make sure that the option "Pre-fill the value in the application is filled"
3. Launch the intervention from this new form. Choose a resource for which you have defined an attachment.
4. The attachment will be displayed on the app.
How to collect attachments?
With the Attachment brick, you can make the operator associate several files with the different resources selected in his form.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Create a form and drag and drop an AutoSelect brick.
2. In the parameters of the Automatic Selection brick, choose a database for which you have defined an Attachment type attribute.
3. Inside the Automatic Selection brick, drag and drop an Attachment brick. In the brick settings, click Linked to an attribute and then select the Attachment attribute you defined.
4. Publish the form and launch it from the application.
5. The operator will be able to select resources and associate an attachment for each of the selected resources.
How to add an attachment to the email sent at the end of the intervention?
If your form contains an Attachment brick, it will be possible to add the content of this brick to the email sent at the end of the intervention.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Open a form in which you have inserted an Attachment.
2. Drag and drop a Finish and Send brick at the end of the intervention.
3. In the settings, choose your Attachment brick.
So if the operator has chosen an attachment at the start of the intervention, the attachment in question will be sent by email at the end of the intervention.
Good to know :
All the attachments present in an intervention are visible in the "Report" tab of the said intervention.
